Print journals are arranged by call number. In Newman and the branch libraries journals are either in a 'current periodicals' area or located in the 'stacks' with books. In Newman the current periodicals area is located on the 3rd floor directly behind the elevator. Stacks locations vary according to call number.
Older journals are often located in the Library Service Center. Requests to bring back these materials may be made through the online catalog. The items held in the Library Service Center will be delivered to the branch of your choice. You will see a Place Hold link at the top of the item's full record screen.
Click on the Place Hold button, and you will be prompted to put in your patron information (For current Virginia Tech Students, Faculty, & Staff: please sign in with your PID, password, and 2nd factor authentication; for Virginia Tech Library Community Cardholders: sign in with your library card number and password). Choose your preferred pick up location (branch), then select the items for volumes you want. (There may be only one choice.) You will receive notification when your item has arrived at the branch location you chose.
