You can print from your laptop (and any other device with a web browser) using MyPrintCenter from any web browser. Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in with your Hokie Passport number or University Libraries access card number; 'No Password Needed' (leave this space blank).
  2. Upload the document(s) you wish to print, and select your desired print options (color or black and white, single or double sided, etc.).
  3. Go to one of the library's printer/photocopiers.
  4. Swipe your card at a printer/photocopier and press "OK" to bring up your account.
  5. Select the documents you want to print and press "Print" or press "Print all".
  6. Once you have finished using the photocopier/printer, be sure to log out using the button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Some things that should be printed from a public computer, instead of MyPrintCenter: PDFs, Government Documents (anything with little boxes that need to be filled in), anything with a diagram or map, and anything that needs to be printed to the Plotter.

There are a series of computers just past the library's Print Center that are reserved for printing, located on the second floor of Newman Library. From these computers you can simply open a document's print dialog, then select "NewmanPublicPrinting" from your list of available printers. You will be prompted to enter your Hokie Passport number or University Library's access card number, then you can retrieve your prints from the printer as described above (i.e., steps 3 to 6).
