Interlibrary Loan process requests Monday through Friday and usually requests are submitted to lending libraries within a few hours or less after the request is submitted by the patron.

Once a library agrees to provide a loan or photocopy, the library retrieves the item from its collection, produces a photocopy when necessary, or ships the item. Transit time depends on the method chosen for library's location and shipping method.

Most articles are received within 1-2 days, with some arriving the same day.  Books and other media, depending on the lending library's location, can arrive within a few days to a week or more.

If you have an emergency need for a document or book, please email Interlibrary Loan or call 540-231-2322.
