Q. Are all Virginia Tech libraries open during the holiday/winter break?

No. The Newman Library (main library in Blacksburg) will close at 6:00  PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, and will reopen at 7:30  AM on Friday, January 2, 2026.

Other University Library branches observe different schedules:

• Art & Architecture Library: Closed from December 20, 2025.
• Special Collections & University Archives (SCUA): Appointment-only access on December 22–23; closed December 24–January 2; reopens Monday, January 5 at 9:00 AM.

All locations will remain closed from December 24 through January 1, resuming operations on Friday, January 2, 2026.
