If you are affiliated with Virginia Tech, use request the item through Interlibrary Loan using ILLiad.

If your mailing address is in the New River Valley counties of Montgomery, Giles, and Pulaski, you will need to pick up borrowed materials from the Newman Library's Services Desk, located on the second floor, during open hours.

Extended-campus users will have materials mailed directly to them.

Regardless of your physical location on- or off-campus, you will be notified via email when your materials have been received.

Getting the requested material can take from a few days to a few weeks, depending upon the verification of the request, availability of the material or proximity of the lending institution. The loan period granted depends on the lending institution, but is often granted for at least 2 weeks, and depends on the policies of the lending library.

Another option to obtain materials not owned locally by the Virginia Tech Libraries is to fill out a Book Suggestion Form to suggest a title for purchase. Login is required.

If you are unaffiliated with the university, use your local library's interlibrary loan service to request these materials.
