Carol M. Newman Library
The physical building is closed. Most services are available virtually; unfortunately, we are unable to offer access to the physical collection at the present time.
If you have items checked out and are concerned about returning them, please know that due dates for all library-owned materials have been extended and we encourage you to hold on to all items until the building is once again open for business.
To accommodate this, due dates for items checked out to undergraduate and graduate students, and most other patrons, have been extended to October 15, 2020. Due dates for faculty and staff have been extended to May 30, 2021.
If you still wish to return materials and are on campus, you may use the book return bins located along Alumni Mall Drive at the library entrance and under the Torgersen Bridge on the library side.
If you are presently not on campus and not returning, you can use our pre-paid mailing label to send materials back via the US Postal Service.
Please note that our staff are working remotely and are unable to process returns; therefore, items will remain on your account until staff can return on-site.
If you have any questions, please contact us at Ask a Librarian.
Art & Architecture and Veterinary Medicine Libraries
The two Blacksburg campus branch libraries are also closed at this time. Due dates have been extended as described above. We encourage everyone to hold on to materials until these physical locations are open once again; however, if you still wish to return items, you may use the book bins on Alumni Mall Drive, or our pre-paid mailing label, as described above.
Borrowers are encouraged to hold on to interlibrary loans until we are open and have staff available to process physical materials; however, it is also possible to return items to the return bins or mail them as described above. For information about due dates or other ILL issues please consult the Interlibrary loan Research Guide or email the Interlibrary Loan office at email@example.com.
