First, do you know which citation style you need to use? The linked page has suggestions if a style hasn't already been selected for you.

For common documents like articles, books, and book chapters, the linked informational sites under each citation style will have examples and explanations. For less common documents, you may need to refer to the citation style manual. Many, but not all of those are available online, and when online those links will be listed on the style guide page. Print manuals are kept on reserve at the Service Desk in Newman Library.
