You can export all or selected scholarly and creative works from Elements and import them into ORCID. However, there is currently no automated process for transferring works from Elements to ORCID.
Claiming your ORCID in Elements enables works with DOIs to be imported into Elements, but it does not support exporting or synchronizing works from Elements to ORCID.
Other common questions:
Why did a duplicate record appear in ORCID after importing a BibTeX file?
- If a work imported from a BibTeX file does not include an identifier (usually a DOI) in either ORCID or the file itself, ORCID may create a duplicate record. You can merge or delete duplicate records manually in ORCID.
Why did my work import with the type “Other”?
- Some works exported from Elements may appear with the work type “Other.” This occurs because of limitations in how metadata from Elements translates to BibTeX and maps to ORCID. This most commonly affects Refereed journal articles and Posters. However, for refereed journal articles, at least, if you have connected your Scopus ID to ORCID, these should get merged to the automated record in ORCID and not create issues.
