Who will have access to my data?

Answer

Information on a profile page in Elements is visible to other Virginia Tech Elements users (administrators, faculty, graduate students, and some staff) who have accounts in the Elements system. Individual activities can be hidden from the profile page by clicking on the "globe" icon and selecting the 'Private' option under 'Relationship privacy':

Department heads and their designees have access to data on users in their respective department. Likewise, deans and their designees have access to data on users in their college, and the provost has access to data on all users. For colleges or areas using the Assessment module, Assessment data is only available to designated reviewers, usually direct supervisors, department heads, unit managers, area administrators, and area Human Resources personnel.

For more information, see the Elements Privacy Statement (requires Elements login).
