We stopped using Summon in May 2018 and our contract with the provider ended in June. Summon will no longer work.
We now use Discovery Search from EBSCO. It works very much like Summon, in that it indexes much of our collections, online or physical. You can search for a topic or for a known item. You can use facets to limit your search results. Physical materials will show a location, call number, and whether the item is currently checked out. Online material will link to the resource and will automatically authenticate you using the standard PID/password/2nd factor used by other Virginia Tech systems.
