The Off Campus Sign In button was removed from our websites in August of 2016, because it is no longer necessary to do any kind of sign in in advance

All current employees, emeritus retirees, and currently enrolled students can access the library's resources remotely. Simply start on the library's website, search in the main search box, use the link to Discovery Search's advance search screen, use the link to browse or search our databasesebooks, or journals. Once you encounter a resource that requires authentication, you will be automatically prompted to sign in and authenticate yourself as affiliated with Virginia Tech via 2-factor authentication. Again, you need do nothing in advance to make that happen as long as you start on the library's website.

If you have recently logged into another Virginia Tech resource that uses the same login system, such as Canvas or HokieSPA, you won't even need to log in again, as you will already be signed into the system.

If you are using Google Scholar on your own computer, you may also wish to install the LibKey Nomad browser extension for access to library resources. Simply install the extension. During the installation process, you'll be asked to identify your library; simply search for Virginia Tech Libraries. Please visit the Research Guide on LibKey Nomad browser extension for further information.

Please also visit our Off Campus Access page for information about Accessing Library Resources Off Campus.
